Meet Our Principals

Randy LittlePrincipal
Randy Little

I have been the Principal at T.A. Dugger Jr. High since January 2010.  I came from Elizabethton High School where I had been teaching Seniors World History for 14 years.  I loved teaching History.  My classroom was an awesome place for me to be.  I was the Head Wrestling Coach, and coached the only District Championship Team to that point. We claimed a State Championship as well.  I also coached baseball and golf over the years and started the Mountain Club at EHS, celebrating the outdoors of our beautiful area.

I served as Assistant Principal at EHS 2001-2003 prior to accepting a Fulbright exchange to Elgin, Scotland where I taught History full time at Elgin Academy for a year.  The year in Scotland was amazing for me.  I still keep in touch with my great friends there and visit as often as possible.  I loved my time and colleagues/friends in Scotland as well as EHS.  Now that I am in the middle of my 8th year as Principal at TAD, I have come to love another place as well as my colleagues.

T. A. Dugger is a great place for all staff and students.  There is a unique bond among our staff and it translates to success for our students.  I take immense pride in hiring new staff for our school.  It is a great joy to hire and watch teachers grow and develop and impact our students so positively.  Travelling, music, mountaineering high peaks, writing, and spending time with friends and family are very valuable to me.

Jason Carter

I have been Assistant Principal/ Athletic Director at T.A. Dugger since 2012. I served in the classroom at T.A. Dugger from 2001-2012 teaching all grade levels of science as well as coaching football and baseball. It has been an honor to work at this school developing life long friendships with colleagues I have grown to love.

My teaching career began in 1992 at Happy Valley Middle School. I taught ELA and also coached basketball and football during my tenure from 1992-2001. My experience at Happy Valley better prepared me for my transition to T.A. Dugger and still have friends teaching there today.

I have been married to my wife Susan since 1993 and have two boys Eric (attending University of Tennessee Pharmacy School) and Evan (attending Elizabethton High). We spend lots of time together as a family doing all types of outdoor activities.
